In Lagos a couple of days ago,
the chaplain of one Chapel of Christ the Light was removed, 24hours after the
Governor’s wife stormed out of the church in anger.
Trust Nigerians, they
started ranting that he is a man of God, that the Governor is acting like
Pharaoh and that he reverse the decision and many more.
However, the chapel is being
owned by the State Government. Implying that whoever is in the helm of the Government
owns it, which in this case it happens to be Governor Ambode in person.
This could be likened to a
business owned by someone. The owner is the decision maker. Gov. Ambode is the
decision maker of that organization. He has all powers to do whatever he sees
fit. Since that is the case, so many people will not see it in such perspective, because he is a man of God, people are clouded by such ideology.
Well even if the decision that was made
to some extent might be wrong, maybe the Chaplain is right or the Governor’s wife is for
attitude is wrong. Come to think of it, even in the scriptures people were punished for actions that was right or minor offenses that was committed which could have been easily overlooked.
Today people lose their
position or jobs because of someone who is superior. I have seen a scenario whereby a senior
colleague was threatening his junior about loosing his job if he
does not threat him well.
So this type of situation
occurs from time to time especially in the workplace, where people lose their job because the boss or
the Ogas at the top misreads or sees an attitude from a different angle from
what it really is, be it right or wrong. Remember the job was given to the
chaplain showing that it could also be removed from him and that was what happened.
